We appreciate the fact that once you’ve passed, all you want to do is get on the road and enjoy your newfound freedom and independence. We certainly don’t blame you; however, we do recommend all new drivers take our Pass Plus courses, which are a perfect and seamless way to fine-tune your new driving skills and save money on your car insurance.
A Pass Plus driving course is aimed primarily at 17 to 25 year olds who want to build on the skills and knowledge already gathered as part of the learning to drive process.
A new driver Pass Plus course will cover:
- Urban driving
- All-weather driving conditions
- Driving on rural roads
- Driving at night
- Driving on dual carriageways
- Motorway driving lessons, for example dealing with high speeds and congested traffic
Pass Plus is a practical driving course and take 6 hours in total. Usually we’ll arrange your Pass Plus course over 3 days with 2 hours per day.
Your instructor will complete a Training Report Form which you’ll sign and date when you reach the required level in each module. In order to pass the course, you’ll need to reach a satisfactory standard in all the modules.
You will be given a Progress Record to enable you to keep a record of your progress throughout the course.
Once you’ve completed the course your instructor will send your completed Training Report Form to DSA who will then issue a Pass Plus Certificate of Completion to show that you’ve successfully completed the course. This entitles you to an insurance discount from one of the companies taking part in the scheme.
